Get ready to immerse yourself in creativity! On Saturday, March 1, from 2-5 PM, Verona will be buzzing with artistic energy at Spotlight on the Arts. This city-wide celebration showcases local artists across various mediums, with interactive exhibits, live demonstrations, and even a student art gallery and theater production of Clue at Verona High School!

Explore over a dozen locations, including Kathy King’s pottery at Linen & Clove, Shalicia Johnson’s pet photography at Blossom Pet Salon, Audifax’s street art at Century School Park, and more. Plus, don't miss a sound bath experience, sustainable textile designs, and a sneak peek at ART House 360’s transformation of a historic schoolhouse!

Hodge Podge Serves Up Its Last Flight

Hodge Podge will be serving its final cup of coffee on March 9th. Since the introduction of latte flights in January 2023, over 10,915 flights—including a mix of latte, cocktail, mocktail, hot chocolate, and other featured flights—have been sold, underscoring the creative spirit and support of the community. For the time being they will continue to host events and classes. As the current model of the establishment winds down, the team is excited to embrace new adventures while cherishing the legacy built with the local community.

In the weeks leading up to March 9th, Hodge Podge will introduce a variety of specials designed to celebrate its history and connect with patrons:

• Build-Your-Own Latte Flights: Following the February featured menu, visitors can look forward to customizable latte flights—a creative twist that has delighted many over the years.

• Event Hosting: Despite the conclusion of daily coffee service, Hodge Podge will continue to host events. Coffee pairings, espresso classes, and private space bookings remain on the schedule, with tickets available through the website.

Operating hours will remain as follows until March 9th:

• Hours: Thursday - Sunday, 8am - 2pm

• Service Times: Espresso, flights, and alcohol served until 1:30pm; waffles available Friday - Sunday until 1pm

This week’s maker feature are Shawn Kuhn, Tommy Stauffer, and Craig Merten creators of Vitruvian Farms.

Vitruvian Farms in McFarland offers Certified Organic vegetables, mushrooms, and more through its award-winning CSA program and year-round online store. Founded by Shawn Kuhn, Tommy Stauffer, and Craig Merten in 2010, the farm provides fresh, local food to the community. In addition to CSA shares, Vitruvian Farms offers over 500 products from Wisconsin growers at The Store at Vitruvian and online.

The CSA program runs early June to the end of September. They offer full or half shares, with boxes of produce delivered weekly or biweekly. Members can also add organic eggs. With pick-up options at the farm and local locations, as well as home delivery across Dane County, it's easy to enjoy healthy, local food. The on-farm store is open Wednesday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A newly expanded building in 2023 further strengthens Vitruvian’s commitment to connecting the community with sustainable, organic food. Whether you’re a CSA member or a visitor, Vitruvian Farms invites you to enjoy fresh, local offerings all year round.
