Rolling Pin Bake Shop Celebrates a Grand-Reopening

Last week The Rolling Pin Bake Shop celebrated with a three-day grand reopening where they provided free samples of delicious cupcakes, cookies and new bread varieties. The celebration gave the business a chance to thank the community for their support over the years. The newly remodeled spot allows for a larger seating area for diners and expanded room for their talented team to craft their creations. The Rolling Pin is so grateful for the opportunity to grow in Fitchburg.

The Rolling Pin opened in December 2002 as a humble, family-friendly, neighborhood bakery. Since then, it has blossomed into a full café serving breakfast, lunch, and fresh soups. The bakery offers a variety of tastes and cuisines: from Russian and European to home-style American. They produce fresh, top-quality goods made from scratch in our modern kitchen. From gourmet desserts, pastries, and cookies to extravagant wedding cakes, the Rolling Pin Bake Shop offers delicious treats for every occasion and celebration. Over the years the business saw tremendous growth and a need for more space. Fortunately, they were able to expand into the suite next door.

If you’re looking for a tasty treat that will having you coming back for more, now is the time to think about your Thanksgiving meal. They are now accepting holiday orders for fresh breads, dinner rolls, and so many decadent desserts. To guarantee your items, call to place your orders! The week of Thanksgiving, they are open Monday through Wednesday for order pick up.

The Great Dane Celebrates 30 Years!

The Great Dane - a favorite spot to sip on a crisp Crop Circle Wheat - is celebrating 30 years of incredible service! Anniversary week kicks off on November 11th - serving up a limited edition beer release, Anniversary Ale. During this week, previous menu favorites are being brought back. Further, each table gets a scratch-off ticket for a chance to win huge discounts, merchandize and more. What’s more - you can join “Dane Rewards” and score a Dane pint glass, koozie, stickers & 100 points (worth $10) for your next order. It’s free to join - but ends November 17th.

Yard Waste Pickup

It’s that time of year again: Yard pickup begins today (11/11). Now, I know this might be giving you the winter scaries, because this means that snow is next. But, for now enjoy the cozy fall feels. Curl up with a good book, put on the YouTube fireplace channel and light that pumpkin cinnamon candle.

Back to yard work, for both Fitchburg and Verona have your specified yard items on the curb Monday morning.

MAKER FEATURE

This week’s maker feature is Gretchen Olson - Owner of Crimson Artist Collective.

Gretchen Olson, Fitchburg resident, has been working with clay for 30 years. She started at a local clay studio and found pottery class to be a great stress reliever. Today, she works full time as a ceramic artist, creating mostly functional work with quite expressive surfaces. She owns and operates Crimson Artist Collective, a pottery studio in Verona, offering classes, memberships, and a small gallery space. Gretchen has a passion for helping others find their calm through art, as she found 30 years ago. Gretchen’s work is available in here gallery and also will be showing at Art in the Write Place at the First Unitarian Society on November 22-23.
